TOI-1452 b discovery and characterisation
Astronomical Journal preprint · Radius 1.67±0.07 Earths; mass 4.8±1.3 Earths; modelled water fraction around 22% with wide uncertainty.
Ye planet Earth nahi hai. And what if I told you this is the closest thing we have found to interstellar's planet.
What this reel claims
TOI-1452 b is about 1.67 Earth radii and 4.8 Earth masses.
Its density is compatible with a substantial water fraction, making it a candidate water-rich world.
Evidence behind the story
Astronomical Journal preprint · Radius 1.67±0.07 Earths; mass 4.8±1.3 Earths; modelled water fraction around 22% with wide uncertainty.
NASA Exoplanet Catalog · Catalog values: 1.672 Earth radii and 4.82 Earth masses.
What didn’t fit
Astronomers do not have a photograph of a blue globe. They have transits, radial velocity, a radius and a mass; interior models ask which mixtures could produce the density. Water-rich compositions are plausible, but rock, volatile layers and atmospheric assumptions leave wide uncertainty. The 1.4-radius line and a 6,000-kilometre ocean add specificity the measurements do not provide.
